Walls That Unite A Mission Driven Service Learning Initiative With Art

forschoolArtware Launches Global Community  ART Tile Wall Initiative

Creating locally, helping globally

We are so excited to tell you about Artware’s new global focus, and our work to improve children’s lives through the healing power of art. For over twenty years, Artware has been a national leader in transforming children’s art into lasting legacies.

We work with you to create a program that meets the specific needs and goals of your organization or you have your members participate in one of our active programs underway this year.

Now, Artware is helping children create artistic legacies with an additional purpose: to unite our global community and help other children around the world reach their full potential. We invite you and your young artists to join us in the Global Community Tile Wall program, in order to:

– inspire and increase our children’s connectedness to the global community
– create a lasting work of art that will brighten a school, library or orphanage overseas
– fund books, school supplies and other vital resources for children’s education

Artware’s Global Community Tile Wall initiative creates vibrant tile murals that raise our children’s global awareness, brighten the educational outlook of at-risk children in other countries, and unite communities across borders.

To participate, young artists submit original artwork for a tile mural which will be installed in a school, library, orphanage or other institution working to improve the quality of life and educational opportunities for children in need.

The Global Community Tile Wall initiative is supported by tax-deductible donations. Each donation supports the creation of a tile for the mural, and also provides additional funding for school supplies, books and classroom construction. We are honored to be working with these exceptional organizations assisting children in need:

Sri Lanka

Our wall is going to be placed in the School in Wasgamuwa, Sri Lanka. The funds raised will be donated to buying books and supplies for the education of the village children in hopes of preparing them for employment opportunities beyond sustenance farming. Because this village is on the elephant migration path, farmers and elephants compete for limited resources creating conflict that often ends in senseless death of the already endangered Asian elephant. Creating alternative forms of income for the next generation will resolve this conflict so that elephants and people can live together in peace.
